Elizabeth (Betty) Leach         November 4, 2007

In Memory

The Redcoat Chapter of Greenville lost a beloved long-time member this past November.  Elizabeth (Betty) Leach passed away on November 4, 2007.

Betty , born in Lancashire, was mother of past State President Christine Barlow, and was cherished by our membership.  Betty was almost a surrogate mother to many of us who were separated from our own mothers back in England.  As well as being one of our hardest working members for so many years, Betty and her husband, Albert, were a fixture at all social functions and parties that were enjoyed by us all.  We could always depend on the two of them to lead off the dancing, and Betty was famous for knowing all the words to every music hall song that anyone could ever think of.  Our “sing-alongs” will never be quite the same.

We shall miss her.
